The Royal Dutch Society for Physical Therapy (KNGF) is the oldest professional organisation for physical therapy in the world and the only professional organisation for physical therapy in The Netherlands. It was established in 1889. On its 100th anniversary in 1989, the Dutch Queen awarded the society a royal designation.
KNGF’s mission
The KNGF’s objective is to create the right conditions to ensure optimal physical therapy care and qualityaccessible for the whole of the Dutch population and recognition for the professional expertise of the physical therapist.
The professionalism and top quality care offered by the Dutch physical therapist is highly recognized nationally and internationally.
The physical therapist has secured an important role in the healthcare chain and continues to expand this role. The KNGF offers support to the physical therapist in curative care as well as preventative care.
